MagTALENTS – Exhibition and Dialogs
Ever heard of "Luks", "nicht jetzt!" or "Zwiebelfisch"? Does "DOC Magazin", "Triebwerk" or "Vier" ring a bell? No? Let us take you to the world of student magazines. Lots of them possess outstanding quality and are yet neither known to the expert audience nor represented in specialized trade.
Whether it's purely typographic work, seminar papers or illustrative masterpieces, the universities throughout Germany have a lot to offer. This exhibition will whisk you away and take you on a journey through the maze of student magazines.
Rhizom. Nineteen. The "project journal at the Department of Design" FH Münster. But what is "rhizom"? A rhizom is the underground part of plants,
The transcends time and space unpredictable and frequently grows in proportion to the front, where he dies back. This rootstock is not a form of organization, but as a subversive element dissolves hardened structures. He pretends not a program does not specify the line. As a result, it may not be a fetter. This means permanent rejuvenation and movement. It's all part of teaching.
This is all a magazine. Self-written, self-designed and produced.
Why a "project journal"? Design as an academic discipline is a method of thinking, which is based on the make. Thinking without doing is theory.
Being able to make without thinking is Orientierungslos. Design is a process from inside to outside. Therefore, the performance starts here with active listening, sits in thinking along continuous and flows into the visionary reacting. The magazine provides what the design alone can not achieve. Rhizome is ambitious. Will develop. Every issue. Because it makes visible what can be. Prof. Rüdiger quass of Deyen
