Typography enablement for emerging markets
Speaker
Throughout its history, Adobe has made great strides in promoting non-Latin typography. The last five years have particularly been a period of increasing growth in this area. In order to support languages for emerging markets, Adobe has invested great effort in enabling and improving typographic options for writing systems of the Middle East, North Africa and India.
These efforts include making improvements to text engines in popular software applications such as Photoshop and InDesign, as well as adding more font families for complex scripts such as Arabic, Hebrew, Devanagari, &c. In his presentation, Paul will discuss some of the challenges and rewards of making typographic functionality and options available to publishers for a growing number of writing systems.
