Phongsathorn Buakhampan

Phongsathorn Buakhampan (*1979) is a temporary researcher at the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre (SAC) in Bangkok, Thailand. Following a BA in Art History and Archaeology at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University in 2006, he initially worked for Cher Green Ltd. in northern Thailand, where he was involved in archaeological excavations related to the world heritage town of Lamphun (2006–2007). He then served as a Research Assistant at the French School of Asian Studies (EFEO) in Bangkok (2010–2011), before taking a temporary post at the Eighth Regional Office of the Fine Arts Department, where he worked on the project to restore and develop the historic landscape of Wiang Kum Kam in the Saraphi District (2011–2012). In 2012, he was awarded a temporary position at the SAC, where he is now working on the Inscriptions in Thailand Database Project and the Manuscripts of Western Thailand Project. He has also been studying for an MA in Epigraphic Studies at Silpakorn University since 2012.
