Dokrak Payaksri (*1978) is a researcher at the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre (SAC) in Bangkok, Thailand. Following a BA at Chiang Mai University in 2000, he completed a master's degree in Thai Epigraphy at Silpakorn University in 2004, with a comparative study of the Northern Thai and the North-Eastern versions of the tale of Buarom Buariaw Buarong. Before joining the SAC in 2008, initially on a temporary basis, he held posts at the National Library in 2004 and then at the French School of Asian Studies (EFEO) from 2004 to 2008. In 2011, he was awarded a full-time research position at the SAC, where he is currently working on a project to survey, study, and digitize local manuscripts from Western Thailand.
